Springtime is God’s beautiful reminder
He has given us a fresh day.
In Him, we have become a new creation,
The former things in life have passed away
Because of what He did for us at Easter.
Each Day we are forgiven and restored,
Set free to share the never-ending blessings of love and life
Abundant in the Lord.

News for the 2008-2009 School Year

We received wonderful news on the afternoon of February 14, 2008. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School will definitely be open for the 2008-2009 school year! NOW the real work begins for us!
Through the past seven months I have learned that everything I do matters. The good, the bad, the ugly. Everything I do or neglect to do…it all impacts somewhere on someone or something. I read once that the beating of a butterfly’s wings will alter the weather miles and miles away. This diminutive action creates a subtle shift, no more, no less than a smile.
Two principles guide me everyday. Everyone counts and everything counts. Maybe that is easy. If we live our lives and educate our children to understand that everything we do has an effect, sometimes small and sometimes grand, it just might create a subtle shift and change the climate in our homes and our schools. It certainly cannot hurt. If the butterfly’s wings can alter the winds, just imagine what could happen when a whole community of butterflies join in. It has the potential to turn the insignificant into the sublime.
We need you to join us in the efforts to ensure our school’s future for years to come. We appreciate all your support and thank those who have already made their commitment to our school.
Devotedly yours in Christ,
Lourdes Wyatt

Catholic Schools Week

Beginning on January 27th, we began our annual observance of Catholic Schools Week, the time set aside each year to celebrate Catholic education. Catholic schools everywhere spend the week marveling at the success of our nation’s 7,800 Catholic schools, the excellence of our students and the difference we make in our communities. During the week, we focus on our schools’ high quality, faith-filled education. We honor everyone who contributes to the schools’ success-not only students, families, faculty and staff, but also all who contribute to Catholic Schools.
This year’s theme, “Catholic Schools Light the Way”, combines the concepts of God’s light in the world and the light of knowledge we strive to kindle in our students. The theme represents the special role of Catholic schools and teachers in lighting the way through a faith-based education that supports the whole child in learning about and leading a fulfilled life. Our students, in turn, “light the way” to a brighter future through leadership in their communities, church, businesses, and families.
In the spirit of Catholic Schools Week celebration at OLL you are welcome to participate in our activities and, if you can, volunteer your time. Visit the classrooms during open houses*, meet with the teachers and students, and congratulate them on their accomplishments. Encourage friends who may consider Catholic education for their children to visit our Catholic School.
Also, take time to express your appreciation to our teachers, staff, board members, volunteers and everyone else involved in Catholic Schools. Through their dedication and commitment, they make our Catholic Schools excellent and truly “light the way “for our students. Please continue to pray for our Catholic School System, as it is an important ministry of the Catholic Church. Thank you.

*OPEN HOUSE--Monday, Feb 4th 9-11AM and 6-8PM
